This page serves as a guide for acquiring additional trade components more effectively. Different Elixirs that are needed to obtain characters' LV30 exclusive weapons can be amassed this way, but the following method can work for any available trade components.

The basic idea behind this farming method is to

  • Create a custom ruleset in Original Rules to make fighting easier
  • Create and import a custom friend card with trade components equipped and the custom ruleset enabled
  • Challenge that friend card via ghost battle to acquire their specific items through battlegen and item drops.

Preparation

This farming method is heavy on preparation. Start by making sure you have the following items purchased in the PP Catalog's System category:

  • Ghost Match - Battlegen OK
  • Trade Component Drop OK

These options will allow the player to gain trade components through battling, and are permanently on after unlocking then.

Optional PP Catalog under Etc. Category:

  • Item Drop Rate Up
  • Battlegen Rate Up

These two options are temporary, but they can be purchased multiple times in a row. Keep track of how many of them are left when farming trade components.

Allure of Honey Equipment

  • Required pieces: 4
  • Special Effect: Battlegen Rate +50 %, Drop Rate +50 %
  • Equipment level: 30+
Equipment
Type Name Stats Category
Weapon Sexy Cologne ATK +31 Special
Hand Member's Card DEF +29 Special
Head Blonde Wig BRV +169 Special
Body Silk Dress HP +1519 Special

Characters who can equip this equipment: Lightning, Yuna, Tifa, Terra, Cloud, Cloud of Darkness, Kefka, Ultimecia, Shantotto and Prishe.

This equipment set is not mandatory, but the activated special effect can greatly speed up any process involving battlegen and item drops (especially Elixirs). Allure of Honey equipment can be found within Story Mode's Scenario 000, in the Curses and Hopes of Yore gateway. It is in a golden treasure chest on the 5th floor. This gateway is located near the Cavern of Earth teleport stone, nearly all the way to the West.

The chest item is determined at random by a loot table, so this dungeon needs to be repeated at least 4 times to acquire the whole equipment set. Completing the gateway is not required to keep the contents of the chest, so once it has been opened, the player is free to exit the gateway. The 5th floor is the last floor, which can still be finished for additional Kupo Points (KP) if needed.

Character Choice

This is important, because picking the right character can make repeated battles faster and easier over time. If you are using Allure of Honey equipment for higher drop rates, it is only possible to use specific characters who can wear it, such as Lightning, Cloud and Prishe.

Satisfying battlegen conditions requires landing bravery attacks, inflicting bravery break, wall rushing the opponent or destroying stage elements. EX Burst is also required for character-specific component drops. Therefore, a character who is relatively easy to use, capable of doing high damage and meeting many battlegen requirements is recommended.

Please note that meeting a battlegen condition multiple times in one battle won't result in multiple copies of a specific item. Finishing battles faster is recommended once battlegen requirements have been attempted a few times.

Cloud

As an HP linker, Cloud has an easier time landing HP attacks via Sonic Break and Slashing Blow braveries. Cloud has a straightforward moveset and he can satisfy battlegen requirements with his bravery attacks, HP links that wall rush and his EX Burst. Being a character who is available from the beginning of the game, it is also likely that he has already leveled up and acquired some abilities beforehand. Firaga can also destroy stage elements in front of Cloud, but using Omni Ground Dash may be faster depending on stage.

Creating the Farming Ruleset

Original Rules (custom rulesets) should be used for this process. They will help by streamlining battles with high EX Force gain for quick EX Burst battlegen conditions, as well as power discrepancies that may exist between the player's and the friend card ghost's equipment.

Create the custom rules by doing the following:

  • In the main menu, go to Data Config and then Original Rules
  • Under My Rules category on the left, select your preferred slot for the farming ruleset.
  • Change the ruleset's name, then go to edit.
  • In the first category (indicated by the fulcrum scale at the top), set the values like this:
Parameters Value
Initial Stage Bravery 0
Stage Bravery Recovery Time 100
Banish Trap Damage 0
Warp Damage 0
Critical Hit Rate 0
Critical Damage 0
EX Core Appearence Rate 0
EX Core Absorption 0
EX Force Absorption 10000
EX Mode Duration 120
Wall Rush Damage 100
Bravery Bonus 0
Stage Bravery 0
Assist Break Rate 0
EX Break Rate 0
Assist Gauge Charge (Attack) 1000
Assist Gauge Charge (Hit) 100
Assist Lock Duration 0
Assist Gauge Depletion Rate 0
EX Damage from Assist Attack 0
EX Revenge Duration 1

This ruleset does a few things: It makes bravery breaks easier to do without getting the extra bravery, which is good for break related battlegen. The increased wall rush damage offsets the lower damage done with the Allure of Honey set. EX Force and Assist gauges fill up very quickly as well.

Other categories can be ignored. The new ruleset will be automatically saved when exiting out of this menu to the main menu.

Character Customization

Cloud (Player)

Make sure to equip the following:

  • Basic abilities Ground Evasion, Midair Evasion and Free Air Dash so it is easier to move around
  • Omni Ground Dash basic ability
  • Sonic Break BRV and its Finishing Touch HP link
  • Slashing Blow BRV and its Omnislash Version 5 HP link
  • Basic support abilities like lock on.
  • Assist character, such as Kuja
  • Summon (if using Summon Unused booster accessory accessory_booster.png)

Accessories (Player)

All of the listed accessories might not be available depending on your progress in 012. Most of them can be obtained by playing through story mode, Moogle Shops within story mode or purchased via the regular shop outside of story mode.

  • Sunrise accessory_basic.png
  • Lucky Charm accessory_special.png
  • Rabbit's Foot accessory_special.png
  • Fake Mustache accessory_special.png
  • Dangerously Lucky accessory_special.png

Fill the rest of the accessory slots with trade components that provide +4 LUK, such as Chocobo Cologne, Rosetta Stone, and so on. LUK stat increases item drop rates, so higher LUK is better in most cases. If some accessories are missing, use the ones that are available at the moment.

Please be aware, that Dangerously Lucky accessory_special.png can only activate when taking HP damage that would otherwise end the battle. It is breakable and as such, will become expensive to restock battle after battle.

It is also possible to enhance the Sunrise accessory accessory_basic.png with booster accessories accessory_booster.png that have consistent uptime, such as Pre-EX Revenge and Summon Unused. However, this will only help with battlegen and not item drop rates. Adjust the build depending on if battlegen, item drops or general convenience in battle is more important.

Equipment (Player)

Allure of Honey equipment set if it is available (see the preparation section). If it is not available, using other high level equipment is allowed. Just make sure to not finish matches too quickly without satisfying some battlegen conditions first.

Friend Card Ghost Setup

In the main menu, press triangle (ddff-icon-button-triangle.png) to go to customization. Choose the character you intend to fight against for this farming process. The character chosen for the friend card is up to preference. However, please note that the character you choose for the friend card will affect some of the Battlegen Components produced, as each character has their unique items for battlegen.

For information on specific battlegen drops and conditions, please refer to this page.

Abilities (Ghost)

Once the character has been chosen, select the set for that character (e.g Set B). Remove all of their abilities except 1 HP attack, preferably something that is easy to avoid, such as Vaan's Cataclysm. Remove that character's summons and assist as well.

This will essentially make the opponent very restricted and vulnerable, which in turn can make battles easier.

Equipment (Ghost)

The equipment matters depending on your goals. The Dangerously Lucky special accessory accessory_special.png only activates when taking HP damage that would normally end a fight. High level equipment helps here. Specific components related to the equipment from item drops are also a factor. In that case, equip the ghost character with equipment that requires a certain component; This can be checked in the shop under customization. For example, the LV100 Adamant Chains set can drop Adamantite.

Without any armor equipped, satisfying battlegen conditions and finishing battles quickly should be more feasible.

Accessories (Ghost)

Equip the following for the friend card ghost character:

  • Training Ring accessory_special.png

If Training Ring is not available, that won't be too detrimental to the process. A ghost character without armor takes a lot of damage and deals little damage.

Then, fill the remaining accessory slots with any trade components you want to farm; Scarletite, Electrum and Elixir, for example.

Certain trade components can drop one of their creation materials as an item drop. As an example, Megalixirs are a component for creating Medal of Honor, so equipping Medal of Honor enables Megalixir item drops. Equipping Ixion's Mane will enable Hi-Elixir drops, and so on. This means you will need to obtain some of the base components first (e.g Hi-Elixir) before equipping the appropriate trade component.

Please note, that you will only obtain the specific item that is needed for the component that you equip. For instance, Medal of Honor will only create Megalixirs, and never anything else. If you want more Megalixirs, equip more components that require it to create in the Shop. If you want a more balanced farm to start, equip a variety of trade components that require different types Elixirs, or whatever else.

It is recommended to start by equipping variety of items to create the wanted trade components. Once it is possible to purchase enough trade components to fill all accessory slots with one particular component such as Megalixir, a specific friend card can be created for farming that specific component in the future.

Creating The Friend Card

Once you have finished customizing the ghost character, it is time to create the friend card for it.

  • In the main menu, go to Data Config > Friend Card.  Here you can edit the data for your Friend Card and export it.
  • Select the preferred icon and message (e.g. Megalixir farm) to distinguish the friend card from others.
  • Set the ghost option to "Ghost" instead of Party
  • Set the rules to the custom ruleset that was created earlier
  • Select the character and the appropriate set with only 1 HP attack
  • Press square (ddff-icon-button-square.png) to save the friend card. Choose any free slot that you prefer.

Importing the Friend Card

  • In the main menu, go to Communications Mode > Communications.
  • Select "Import a Friend Card" and choose the Friend Card that was saved earlier.
  • Exit out of the communications menu
  • Go to communications mode > friend card

The new imported friend card should be visible at the bottom of the friend card list.

Follow this process for as many friend cards as needed.

Creating Multiple Friend Cards for Farming

If you want to create multiple Friend Cards for farming different components, all you have to do is:

  • Repeat the previous friend card ghost setup
  • Change the player name to something different in data config > player name
  • Save the friend card in a new save slot

Only one created friend card with the same name can exist within the player's Dissidia 012 system data. Be sure not to overwrite save files or friend cards by accident. Locking friend cards also works.

Battling Friend Card Ghosts

It is time to begin farming. Start in the main menu and go to Communications Mode > Friend Cards. Select which friend card you want to farm with by pressing cross (ddff-icon-button-cross.png), then select the option "Ghost Battle [1-on-1]". Select your character and their equipment set.

Stage selection is up to preference. If certain stage battlegen components are needed, choose that stage instead. One stage recommendation would be Phantom Train. Its small size and numerous stage elements (seats) allow characters to remain in close range, attack frequently and meet battlegen conditions with ease.

If you are using the Allure of Honey set and the opponent has higher level equipment on, Cloud will do less damage. The wall rush damage set in the original rules helps offset the difference in damage, so make sure to land HP attacks that wall rush.

During battle in the Phantom Train stage, start by destroying the seats with Omni Ground Dash. Then approach the opponent and perform a BRV to HP link with Sonic Break or Slashing Blow. Follow up with an assist combo into another BRV to HP link. The wall rush damage should be enough for the next HP attack or EX Burst to end the fight. Activate EX mode and finish the opponent with an EX Burst if you're looking for character-specific item drops.

Repeat this strategy for as many fights as necessary.
