Onion Knight changes into either a ninja or a sage depending on how you use him. He can also change jobs with his unique EX skill, and doing so this way has the added benefit of restoring his HP.

Onion Knight [(Japanese full name)] is the main protagonist of Final Fantasy III and a warrior of Materia in Dissidia Final Fantasy NT.

Ground

Unleash a flurry of strikes faster than the eye can follow.

Cast an ice shard that pursues your enemy.

Air

Unleash a flurry of sword thrusts faster than the eye can follow.

Cast a fireball that pursues your enemy.

Dash

Dash even faster in the direction you push the left stick. Creates an opportunity to cancel into another bravery attack.

Sprint is a great tool for both getting in or keeping distance on opponents.

Being an 8-directional dash, you can attack right out of it, so it's useful for dodging and reading an opponent's attack with a chance to punish it. It also has enough Poise to go through most ranged attacks, which makes it a useful tool for approaching Marksmen.

Sidestep is possible at the end of Sprint, thus enabling efficient and quick positioning. It spends no dash meter, so you can use it for moving around quickly.

Ninja

Ground

Lunge in quickly and unleash an even faster barrage of sword strikes.

Spin your sword around and jump to gradually lift your foe higher into the air.

Spin so fast while attacking that you create a tornado.

Air

Lunge in quickly and unleash an even faster barrage of sword thrusts.

Huck a massive throwing star at your opponent.

Quickly descend while somersaulting to attack a foe below you.

EX Skills

Turn into a sage and recover both your HP and bravery.

Sage

Ground

Cast ice shards that pursue your foe. (Can move while casting)

Cast an orb of wind magic that slowly pursues your enemy. (Can move while casting)

Cast a fireball that speeds toward your opponent and eventually explodes. (Can move while casting)

Air

Cast fireballs that pursue your opponent. (Can move while casting)

Cast an orb of lightning bolts that slowly pursues your foe. (Can move while casting)

Cast a holy orb that speeds toward your enemy and eventually explodes. (Can move while casting)

EX Skills

Turn into a ninja and recover both your HP and bravery.

HP Attacks

Reach character level one.
Slash your foe with your sword, then send them flying with a fire spell. Charging increases efficacy.

Reach character level two.
Vex your target with a series of rapid blows. The number of attacks and range increase as a ninja.

Bombard foes with meteors from a distance. Range increases while you are a sage.

Reach character level ten.
Engulf everything near you in an explosion. Larger effect radius as ninja or sage. Revert to onion knight after use.

Special Abilities

Onion Knight will change jobs to ninja after he lands a certain number of physical attacks. Onion knight will change to sage after he lands a certain number of magic attacks. Onion Knight will change jobs faster with Spirit Surge equipped.
